Ildiko Szallas
Work
Each work begins with clay and time. Built entirely by hand — through pinching, coiling, slab, kurinuki and tataki — every piece takes its own form, slowly and without repetition.
Ildikó works in stoneware, often leaving surfaces unglazed to reveal the raw texture and natural character of the clay. Where glaze or slip appears, it is chosen for what it adds to the conversation between surface and form — never decoration for its own sake.
